A Jacksonville man is facing several charges after warrants state he armed himself with a handgun and caused a disturbance in an Onslow County neighborhood Saturday.
According to charging documents, 31-year-old Osvaldo Anaya was arrested by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office on June 20 following an incident on Peppertree Court.
Investigators allege Anaya armed himself with a handgun and went onto a public street in a manner that caused fear among residents. Deputies say he engaged in disorderly and violent behavior, including threatening to fight through text messages before arriving at the scene and yelling at others.
Charging documents state Anaya also attempted to pull a pistol from his waistband, creating what authorities described as a threat of immediate violence. He is additionally accused of carrying a concealed Taurus GX2 handgun and attempting to strike one person during the confrontation.
Anaya was charged with going armed to the terror of the people, disorderly conduct, carrying a concealed gun, simple assault, open container after consuming alcohol, and related driving offenses.
Authorities also allege he drove on Peppertree Court while impaired and refused to submit to a chemical analysis. As a result, his driving privileges were revoked pending further proceedings.
Anaya was transported to the Onslow County Detention Center, where he received a secured bond.
