PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Port St. Lucie is looking for an artist to help shape what will eventually become the city’s largest park, with an application deadline set for Wednesday at 3 p.m.
City leaders are seeking proposals for a landmark sculpture at the main entrance of the future Torino Regional Park, a 195-acre project in north Port St. Lucie that is expected to open next June. The park is planned to include trails, playgrounds, open green space and fields for recreational sports.
The city broke ground on the project in December 2025.
Renderings released by the city show what the park is expected to look like when it opens next summer.
The entrance sculpture is intended to match the park’s “fairytale forest” theme and serve as a signature feature for visitors arriving at the site.
“This is going to be sort of the gateway to what will be our largest park, when its completed,” Scott Samples of the City of Port St. Lucie told CBS12 News. “It’s going to be something that is magical. Families are going to be gathering there from all over the region, so we really want something that is welcoming.”
The deadline to apply is Wednesday at 3 p.m.
