Terrion Arnold made national headlines on June 25, 2026, after Tampa police announced his arrest in connection with a kidnapping and armed robbery case. The Detroit Lions cornerback turned himself in on June 24 and was taken into custody at Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County after a Tampa Police Department investigation.
According to investigators, Arnold faces four counts of armed robbery and four counts of kidnapping stemming from allegations that he coordinated a February 2026 kidnapping and robbery in Tampa.
Prosecutors say the charges carry the possibility of a life sentence if he is convicted. Two co-defendants had already entered guilty pleas before Arnold’s arrest, while the legal proceedings against the NFL player remain ongoing.
The arrest marks a dramatic turn for one of the league’s promising young defensive backs, whose football career had been defined by rapid development from Alabama standout to first-round NFL draft pick.
