STARTING SUNDAY, GUEST BOARDING RESORT BUSSES AND BOATS AT DISNEY SPRINGS WILL HAVE TO SHOW PROOF OF STAY OR A DINING RESERVATION FIRST. WARNING TRAFFIC EXPERT MEAGHAN MACKEY IS HERE. YEAH, AND IT’S MEANT TO CRACK DOWN ON PEOPLE TRYING TO AVOID PAYING FOR PARKING AT THE THEME PARKS HAVE DEFINITELY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF A HACK. NOT THIS ONE, THOUGH. DISNEY SPRINGS PARKING WILL STAY FREE FOR EVERYONE, SO THAT’S GOOD NEWS. BUT ANYONE GETTING ON THE RESORT BUSSES FROM THERE WILL HAVE TO SCAN THE MAGICBAND. USE DISNEY MAGIC MOBILE OR SHOW A RESERVATION IN THE MY DISNEY EXPERIENCE APP. NOW DISNEY HAS SIGNS POSTED TO ALERT GUESTS OF THE CHANGE, AND THE RESERVATION CHECKPOINTS ARE BEFORE THE VARIOUS BUS LOOPS AND NOT AT SPECIFIC STOPS. THIS MEANS THAT ONCE YOU’VE PROVEN YOU’RE AN ONSITE GUEST OR HAVE AN ELIGIBLE RESERVATION, YOU’RE STILL FREE TO ACCESS OTHER ROUTES AND RESORTS. SO I’VE SEEN A LOT ON TIKTOK WHERE PEOPLE WOULD LIKE PARK AT DISNEY SPRINGS. THEY HAVE THE TWO GARAGES, THEY WOULD GET ON THE BUS, GO TO THE RESORT, AND THEN LIKE, LIKE GET FREE BUT NOT FREE. Starting Sunday, guests boarding resort buses and boats at Disney Springs will need to show proof of stay or a dining reservation as Disney implements new transportation policies.Disney tested this change earlier this year to address people trying to avoid paying for parking at the theme parks. Parking at Disney Springs will remain free for everyone, but guests using resort transportation from there must scan a MagicBand, use Disney MagicMobile, or show a reservation in the My Disney Experience app. Signs have been posted at Disney Springs to alert visitors to the change. The reservation checkpoints are located before the bus loops, not at specific stops. Once guests prove they are staying on-site or have an eligible reservation, they will still be able to access other routes and resorts.
