After a first round that went pretty close to the way the prospect analysts thought it would go, Day Two of the NHL draft gets underway this morning. The Tampa Bay Lightning didn’t make any moves to jump into the first round (nor were they expected to) but have a full day that starts with six picks, three of them in the fifth round. We expect a few trades to be made, maybe not on the scale that we saw Friday night, and there will be 100% less Justin Bieber, but it will be fun to see who the Lightning add to their organization.
Sadly, we aren’t able to cover this like we would like to, but stick with this page to see who the Lightning select. We’ll update the picks once they are made (or if they’re traded). Others such as 6’4″ shut-down defenderWilliam Hakansson, smooth-skating blueliner Xavier Villeneuve, and Yegor Shilov, a playmaking forward who put up 82 points in 63 games in the QMJHL have enough question marks in their game that they could fall to the Bolts in the lower-half of the second round.
