DEEP CREEK — A Charlotte County home was gutted by fire Saturday.
Firefighters were sent to Navigator Road in the Deep Creek community at 6:51 a.m. for a home on fire, according to reports from Charlotte County Fire & EMS.
Crews could see a column of smoke as they approached the home.

Once there, firefighters found fire showing from two sides of the home and began trying to put it out.
All the occupants of the home had gotten out and there were no pets inside.
Crews were able to get the fire out, but not before it caused significant damage to large parts of the home.
A Charlotte County investigator determined the fire started accidentally. It was caused by old arcade game machine inside the home.
There were no injuries reported and fire officials contacted the American Red Cross to assist the displaced family.
The American Red Cross stated it assisted five adults and two children impacted by the blaze.
