The 68-year-old rider, of Hilliard, was injured after ramming into the back of a pickup truck traveling north on US-1 near the Nassau-Duval line.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A motorcyclist was critically injured in Duval County Sunday night in a crash on New Kings Road (US-1).
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the 68-year-old Hilliard man was riding north at approximately 8:35 p.m. near the intersection with Old Kings Road. At the same time, a pickup truck was traveling in the same direction in front of him.
FHP said as they were approaching the intersection, the motorcyclist veered left, hitting the truck’s rear left bumper. The motorcycle then continued off the roadway, into the median, through the southbound lanes and then the woodline.
The driver and the passenger of the truck, both from Thonotosassa, Fla., were uninjured.
