With 2026 marking America’s 250th anniversary (or the United States Semiquincentennial, if you’re fancy), this isn’t your standard Independence Day. It’s a historic milestone for the country.
South Florida is pulling out all the patriotic stops this year to celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.
It will be red, white and blue as far as the eye can see when marching units parade down main streets, music-filled festivals take over parks, and fireworks displays bring out the oohs and ahs from crowds far and wide. Revelers can also experience the celebration in a way our founding fathers would never have imagined (well, maybe Ben Franklin) — watching drones perform synchronized shows in the night sky.

Coconut Creek: An immersive drone and fireworks show will honor America’s 250th anniversary during the Independence Day celebration starting at 7 p.m. Saturday at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, 5550 NW 40th St. Other highlights include a laser light show, water projections, cash bar, food trucks and a kids’ zone. Coral Springs: The Fourth of July Celebration will come to Mullins Park, 10000 Ben Geiger Drive, from 4-9:30 p.m. Saturday featuring three bands, patriotic-themed contests, vendors, food trucks, interactive activities and inflatable attractions. The fireworks display will be at 8:45 p.m. Bring coolers, chairs, picnic blankets or beach towels. Free admission. Visit coralsprings.gov.
Deerfield Beach: The city’s 4th of July Celebration will feature entertainment and food vendors from 4-9 p.m. Saturday at the Main Beach Area, 149 SE 21st Ave. The fireworks display by the ocean is set for 9 p.m. Free admission. Visit deerfield-beach.com.
Fort Lauderdale: Country music star Walker Hayes will headline the 4th of July Spectacular, which takes place from noon-9:15 p.m. Saturday at Las Olas Oceanside Park (The LOOP), 3000 E. Las Olas Blvd., and along Fort Lauderdale beach. Hayes is scheduled to take the stage at 7:30 p.m., but entertainment, a kids’ zone, beach games, contests and family activities are planned throughout the day. Hollywood: The America 250 Star-Spangled Spectacular Celebration will be from 7-9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hollywood Beach Theater & Plaza, 200 Johnson St. Enjoy music and an offshore fireworks display at 9 p.m. Free admission. Visit hollywoodfl.org.
Lauderhill: This Pre-Independence Day Drone Light Show will light up Lauderhill Sports Park, 7500 W. Oakland Park Blvd., from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday and feature music, food trucks, bounce houses and face painting. Bring chairs. Free admission. Visit lauderhill-fl.gov.
Margate: Line up along Margate Boulevard at 9 a.m. Saturday to begin the Fourth of July Extravaganza with a parade heading from Northwest 76th Avenue to 58th Avenue at the Clock Tower. After the parade, refreshments (hot dogs, chips and soda) will be available. From 1-4 p.m., the city will have a Fourth of July pool party at Calypso Cove, 6200 Royal Palm Blvd., with a DJ and a caricature artist on-site. Admission ranges from $2-$12 depending on age and city residency; guests younger than age 2 enter free of charge. The event continues with live music and bounce houses at 5 p.m. at the corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7. Oakland Park: Celebrate the city’s 97th birthday and America’s 250th during the Penultimate Semiquincentennial All-American Picnic from 4-7 p.m. Friday at City Centennial Park, 3900 NE Third Ave. The event kicks off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Oakland Park Library. At the picnic, enjoy free food, music, field day games and an apple pie-eating contest. There will also be face painting, a photo booth and a cash bar. Free admission. Visit oaklandparkfl.gov.
Pembroke Pines: This Independence Day Celebration will start at 6 p.m. Saturday and end with a fireworks show at 9 p.m. at the Pines Recreation Center, 7400 Pines Blvd. Other highlights include music, rides and bounce houses, face painting, activities in the Firecracker Fun Zone, food trucks, a mobile bar, pie-eating contests and a “Dress Like It’s 1776” photo area. Plantation: America 250, an Independence Day Celebration, begins Saturday with a parade at 9 a.m. at the corner of Broward Boulevard and Northwest 46th Avenue. The parade ends at City Hall, 400 Northwest 73rd Ave. Activities also include a kids’ zone and concert starting at 6 p.m. at the Plantation Central Park ball fields, 9151 NW Second St., with a fireworks show to follow at 9 p.m. Food will be available for purchase. Pompano Beach: The Fisher Family Pier, 222 N. Pompano Beach Blvd., will be the site of a July 4th Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday. Starting at 5 p.m., there will be a DJ and bands. Sunrise: The “Stars and Stripes: 250 Years of Smiles” Parade steps off at 9 a.m. Saturday with themed floats and marching units moving west along Sunset Strip from Northwest 12th Street to City Park, 6600 Sunset Strip. A Family Fun Day begins after the parade ends at the park with snow cones, a playground and splash pad, and a fun zone with an inflatable water slide, obstacle course and rock wall. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Free admission. From 6-10 p.m., head to Amerant Bank Arena, 1 Panther Parkway, for a children’s fun zone, drone show, bands, and food and beverage vendors. The fireworks will launch at 9 p.m. Free admission. Weston: The city has planned patriotic events around the theme “Two Milestones, One Celebration: America 250 • Weston 30.” Visit westonfl.org.
• The Hometown Fireworks Celebration, set for 6-9 p.m. Friday at Regional Park, 20200 Saddle Club Road, will include music, food trucks, interactive games and photo stations to celebrate America’s 250th birthday and Weston’s 30th anniversary of incorporation. A fireworks display will lighting up the night sky beginning at 9 p.m. Free admission.
• From 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, the city’s Fourth of July Parade will head from the corner of Town Center Boulevard and Three Village Road and wind through Weston Town Center along Bell Tower Lane to Main Street. Participants include this year’s grand marshal, BSO firefighter/paramedic Richard George, along with community and performing groups, fire trucks and police vehicles. Free admission. Boca Raton:
• A Block Party will take over Sugar Sand Park, 300 S. Military Trail, from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, with kids’ crafts, a DJ, yard games, and food trucks and vendors. From 6:30-9:30 p.m., the Fabulous Finale will be at Countess de Hoernle Park, 1000 Spanish River Blvd., with music, food trucks and vendors, plus a 20-minute fireworks show starting at 9:10 p.m. Free admission for both events. • Palm Beach County’s 4th of July 250 Year Celebration will be at Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park, 20405 Amphitheater Circle, on Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m. The event will include The Viva Band performing songs by American rock bands, as well as bounce houses, games and recreational activities for all ages, and a fireworks finale at 9 p.m. Food trucks will be on-site. Boynton Beach: Red, White & Blue With A Waterfront View will bring the celebration to Intracoastal Park, 2240 N. Federal Highway, from 4-9 p.m. Saturday. Delray Beach: The city’s 4th of July Celebration begins Saturday at East Atlantic Avenue from the Intracoastal bridge to State Road A1A with the opening of the Bicentennial Time Capsule at the main stage at 5 p.m. Then at 6 p.m., there will be a flag-raising ceremony on Atlantic and Seabreeze avenues. Greenacres: The city’s Independence Day Celebration “Ignite the Night” is set for 5:30-10 p.m. Saturday at Samuel J. Ferreri Community Park, 2905 Jog Road, with entertainment, arts and crafts, food, craft vendors, a stilt walker, games, contests, and inflatable rides and face painting ($10 each). Lake Worth Beach: As part of “Independence Day, the Lake Worth Beach Way,” the city will offer music, food and a parachute team demo starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at Bryant Park, 100 S. Golfview Road. Royal Palm Beach: The Independence Day Celebration from 3-10 p.m. Saturday at Royal Palm Beach Commons Park, 11600 Poinciana Blvd., will include a day full of music, carnival rides, bounce houses, arts and crafts, food and merchandise vendors and more. • Thursday Nights in Wellington x America 250 Celebration — 5-9 p.m. at the Wellington Amphitheater, 12100 Forest Hill Blvd., with more than 18 food trucks and 35 market vendors, and performances by The Bruce: A Bruce Springsteen Tribute (6 p.m.) and Homegrown: The Zac Brown Band Experience (7:30 p.m.). West Palm Beach: One Epic Fourth on Flagler (Celebrating America’s 250th), an outdoor waterfront event, will take place from 5-10 p.m Saturday at Flagler Drive from Banyan Boulevard to Fern Street. There will be multiple stages with entertainment, themed crafts, bounce houses and games ($5 unlimited play), mechanical bull rides for age 18 and up ($5 per ride) and food. A laser show synchronized with an 18-minute fireworks display over the Intracoastal Waterway is set to begin at 9 p.m. and will be broadcast live on WPBF-Ch. 25. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.
