BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A man who was released from jail found himself back in custody just 20 minutes later after allegedly throwing rocks at a Florida deputy’s patrol car.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), Kevin Berrios was released from the Brevard County Jail around 3:30 p.m.
Shortly after his release, he encountered a deputy, who was driving on Camp Road when Berrios allegedly threw a rock at the marked patrol vehicle.
BCSO said that the deputy was already on his way to bring another person to jail when he stopped to question Berrios about his actions. With no reasonable explanation provided, Berrios was taken back to jail.

While the deputy was getting a loaner vehicle at a nearby Fleet Maintenance Building, he reported noticing damage to other vehicles caused by rocks. This prompted an agent from the General Crimes Unit to investigate further.
Surveillance footage revealed Berrios exiting the jail, walking across the street, and throwing objects at several patrol cars.
In total, BCSO said that Berrios’ actions resulted in approximately $3,700 worth of damage. He is now back in jail, this time with no bond, per BCSO.
