The Jacksonville Summer ID took place on Tuesday, June 30, at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, FL. The event featured players from the 2027-2030 classes participating in a pro-style workout, followed by bullpens in front of the Prep Baseball Florida Scouting Staff.

POWER BATS
2028 Nolan Slaymaker showed impressive offensive potential, with an event-leading exit velocity (105.6 mph) and max distance (404 ft). 2027 Preston Cole had a max exit velocity of 100.4, with strong power to the opposite field. 2027 John Parkinson displayed power potential to the pull side, with a max exit velo of 99.7 mph.

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS
2027 Preston Cole stood out defensively, excelling during both the outfield and infield workouts. Cole’s 97 mph velocity from the outfield was the best in the group, while his 91 mph throw from shortstop was the second-highest of the day. 2028 Garrett Harper (86 mph), 2030 Mark Thompson (85 mph), and 2027 Kai Orr (85 mph) were all right behind Cole during the outfield work. 2028 Nolan Slaymaker had an event-best 93 mph infield velocity.

PITCHERS
2028 Nolan Slaymaker displayed a strong arm from the mound on Tuesday, as his fastball reached 93.7 mph. Slaymaker also threw a changeup (84.5 mph, 1810 RPM), curveball (77.7, 2558), and a cutter (86.3, 2408). 2028 Garrett Harper’s fastball reached 87.2 mph. Along with the fastball, the southpaw’s arsenal featured a slider (80.4 mph, 2254 RPM), changeup (79.9, 1074), and a curveball (75.1, 2394).
‘28 Nolan Slaymaker (FL) is one of the more physical arms in the class up to 94 w/ hop. Highly functional foundation, projects as a premium RHP.

ATHLETES
Several players showed above-average athleticism at the Jacksonville Summer ID. 2027 Preston Cole led the group with a 6.62-second 60-yard dash. 2029 Matt Mizell had the second-best 60-yard time of 6.74 seconds, while also recording the top vertical jump at 26.9 inches. 2027 Max Boykin (6.80 seconds) and 2028 Cameron Allen (6.85) posted impressive 60-yard times as well.

CATCHING STANDOUTS
The catcher group in Jacksonville was very talented, with four catchers recording pop times of 2.01 seconds or less. 2029 Henry Arndt had the best pop time at 1.98, also leading the catchers with a 78 mph throw to second base. 2027 John Parkinson had a 2.00 pop time, while 2028 Bennett Malone and 2027 Will Arndt each had 2.01-second pops. Malone had a 78 mph velo, with Parkinson right behind him at 76 mph.
