GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Communities across North Central Florida marked Independence Day with fireworks displays, live music and local events Friday night.
The University of Florida’s annual “Fanfares and Fireworks” event took place at Flavet Field. Live music warmed up the crowd before fireworks lit up the night sky. Fireworks displays were also held in Williston and Newberry.
In Lake City, the Humane Society hosted a fundraiser in honor of Independence Day. Attendees were treated to hot dogs, cupcakes and other snacks.
