This is “Small Bites,” a South Florida Sun Sentinel feature with tiny tidbits on the food and beverage scene — because we know that sometimes you just don’t have room for a long article. You want a little news brief instead, an amuse bouche of information, if you will. Enjoy!

WHAT: Outside coolness? Is that even possible in SoFlo?

Give it a try at Sundays on the River, a summertime series at The Wharf Fort Lauderdale that aims to help subside the searing heat with a Frozen Bar.

Offering six handcrafted cocktails, the pop-up bar is taking center stage at this al fresco fun spot in Las Olas Riverfront Circle in downtown Fort Lauderdale. For $15 each, choose from a refreshing Frozen Mojito to a classic Strawberry Margarita as well as other summer-inspired favorites.

The weekly series along the New River also includes live music, a farmers and craft market with a rotating lineup of local businesses and artisans, as well as gourmet food vendors. The three on the culinary scene are: Smashies (burgers), The Piefather By Chef José Mendín (pizza) and Carlos & Pepe’s (Mexican cuisine).

Oenophiles should check out the weekly Sunday special of $100 jeroboams of rosé from noon to 4 p.m.
