After more than seven months of preparation, the Legacy Boys Junior National Team is ready to represent Guam on one of the biggest stages in youth volleyball as it competes in the 15U Select Division at the 2026 AAU Boys Junior National Volleyball Championships in Orlando, Florida.
The team, which has trained together since December 2025, will compete against club programs from across the United States during the prestigious national championship held at the Orange County Convention Center, one of the world’s largest volleyball venues.
The 15U division is part of Wave 2 competition, bringing together talented teams from throughout the country in one of the nation’s premier youth volleyball events.
Leading Guam is head coach and boys program director Alvin Alvarez, alongside assistant coaches Domenico “Dome” Ri and Mike Deausen.
“This group has earned this opportunity,” Alvarez said. “They’ve been committed since December, putting in countless hours of training while learning what it means to represent something bigger than themselves. Our goal isn’t just to compete—we want these boys to experience the highest level of volleyball, challenge themselves against outstanding competition, and proudly represent Guam every time they step on the court.”
The coaching staff believes the experience will accelerate the players’ development while exposing them to the speed, physicality and tactical execution found at the national level.
The AAU Boys Junior National Volleyball Championships annually attract hundreds of teams from across the United States and serve as one of the country’s premier showcases for youth volleyball talent. The tournament features multiple competitive divisions and provides young athletes an opportunity to measure themselves against some of the nation’s strongest club programs.

For many of the athletes, the tournament marks their first opportunity to compete on a national stage against elite competition outside the Pacific region.
“Our expectations are simple,” Alvarez said. “Compete with heart, trust the work we’ve put in, support one another, and represent Guam with class. If we do those things, we’ll leave Florida a better team than when we arrived.”
The Legacy Boys Junior National Team hopes its participation will continue to elevate boys volleyball on Guam while inspiring the next generation of young athletes to pursue the sport at a higher level.
