ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. — A Jacksonville woman is behind bars without bond after deputies say she threatened a child with a kitchen knife during a domestic incident.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Madeline Novoselsky in connection with the July 3 incident.
Novoselsky is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and child abuse.
According to arrest warrants, Novoselsky is accused of standing over a child while holding a kitchen-style knife and threatening them. Investigators allege the child was younger than 16 years old and that Novoselsky, who is identified in court records as the child’s parent, placed the child at substantial risk of physical injury.
Novoselsky was taken to the Onslow County Jail, where she is being held without bond.
