Deputies are reminding the public to make a plan on how to get home before starting to drink.

TAMPA, Fla. — Deputies in Hillsborough County are reminding people to not drink and drive as they report 19 people were arrested Saturday amid 4th of July celebrations.

Sunday afternoon, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said that among the 19 DUI arrests, a 38-year-old man was stopped after driving at over 65 miles per hours in a 45 mph zone.

According to HCSO and body cam footage released by deputies, during the traffic stop, they asked the man to do sobriety exercises before they determined that he was impaired. He was then arrested for driving under the influence.

HCSO says that their DUI unit will continue working on the night of July 5th to continue “enforcement efforts to keep our roads safe.”
