Home-flipping profit margins nationwide rose to 25.4% in the first quarter, ending seven straight quarters of declines, according to data from real estate data and property analytics company ATTOM. While overall flipping activity slowed from a year ago, Southwest Florida ranked among the nation’s leaders for all-cash purchases. In the first quarter, 79.2% of flipped homes in the Naples metro area and 77.5% in the Cape Coral metro area were bought with cash, placing them among the top five U.S. markets. Nationally, investors completed 64,348 home flips, representing 8% of all home sales, with a typical gross profit of $66,000. It took the typical home flipped in the first quarter 165 days to flip, up from 160 days the previous quarter and 164 days at the same time last year.
