FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — One woman was injured, and two men were hospitalized in back-to-back shootings over the Fourth of July weekend in Fort Pierce.
The first shooting occurred on Saturday. The Fort Pierce Police Department said officers responded to Avenue I at 4:55 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Investigators said the victim had been riding a bicycle with a woman when shots were fired near North 27th Street and Avenue G.
Officers said they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds upon arriving at the scene.

Police rendered aid until the St. Lucie County Fire District arrived and transported the man to a hospital.
According to police, the victim fled the scene on foot before collapsing near a business on Avenue I. Officers found evidence of the shooting, including a blood trail extending from North 27th Street and Avenue G to where the victim was found.
The second shooting occurred around 3:43 a.m. July 5 near South 14th Street.
When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. A woman had been shot in the hand, while a man suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators said the victims had been involved in an earlier altercation on Okeechobee Road before returning home. As they arrived, a man believed to have been involved in the altercation approached and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
