CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) – A trial has been set for a Jacksonville man accused in the shooting death of a Jacksonville teenager.
Isiah Mallord is charged with the murder of Jayden Polk, 17, after a shooting in February 2024.

Deputies arrived at the scene on CR 1804 in the Maydelle community where Polk died at the scene with gunshot wounds. Mallord was taken to the hospital in critical condition before he was later booked into jail.
A trial has been set for the second week of August, according to the Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office.
