July 6, 2026 – St. Petersburg City Council will consider two 99-year ground lease agreements with Ferg’s Sports Bar and Grill for unused portions of a former rail corridor tied to the Booker Creek Trail project. Ferg’s would pay $6 million for the leases, helping fund the city’s planned $7 million acquisition of the 0.86-mile corridor from the Trust for Public Land. The city plans to use the property for recreational trail space, while allowing Ferg’s to use adjacent portions not needed for the trail.
