JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Four Jacksonville Dolphins were named USILA Scholar All-Americans. Seniors Nicky Brown, Breyden Harrison, Jack Taylor and Aaron Toguri were all among the honorees from around the country recognized for athletic and academic achievement. JU tied for the most Scholar All-Americans of any program in the ASUN.
To earn Scholar All-American honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA while also earning recognition on the field as an All-Conference or All-American performer. For Jacksonville’s quartet of honorees, they all earned at least second team All-ASUN honors while thriving as leaders in the locker room, community and the classroom.
Taylor adds an academic All-American distinction on top of historic accolades as a player. He earned playing All-American honors from the USILA, InsideLacrosse and USA Lacrosse this past season, becoming just the fourth player to do so in JU history. He finished his Jacksonville career as the third all-time leading scorer in program history with 203 points.
Brown is another historic achiever for the Dolphins on the field who’s off-field accomplishments now get the spotlight. He earned second-team All-ASUN honors this season, and he finished fifth all-time in program history with 155 points. Toguri is one of the greatest defensive players in program history, and now adds USILA Scholar All-American to his list of career accomplishments that includes two first team All-ASUN selections. Harrison has blossomed as a leader for Jacksonville lacrosse as an All-Conference performer and now USILA Scholar All-American.
