Bern’s French Onion Pizza Credit: Bella’s Italian Cafe
Longtime South Tampa dining institutions Bern’s Steak House and Bella’s Italian Cafe are both celebrating some serious birthdays this year, and to mark the occasions the two are throwing a collaborative pizza party of sorts.
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of Bern’s and the 40th anniversary of Bella’s, the popular duo released a limited-time “Bern’s French Onion Pizza,” available now through Sunday, July 12.
The collaborative dish is a pizza-fied nod to Bella’s popular wood-fired zas and to one of Bern’s most famous complimentary sides. The wood-fired pizza features Bern’s classic French onion soup reduction, caramelized onions, and a Bern’s exclusive cheese blend and thyme, layered on Venetian dough and topped with fresh chives.
The first of its kind pizza is is only available on a first come, first served basis for dine-in only at Bella’s, and is priced at $19.56 in honor of the year Bern’s first opened its doors.
This is just the most recent of local collab dishes from Bern’s. Earlier this year, The Michelin -recommend spot also did a limited steak sandwich run with fellow Tampa mainstay La Segunda Bakery.
