On Wednesday, officials issued a heat advisory for Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.
The advisory begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m., as temperature highs are near 95 with heat index values up to 109 degrees, according to NWS Melbourne.
Skies will be mostly sunny although, there is a 20 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m.
Winds are calm, blowing south-southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
There is a moderate risk of rip currents at local Atlantic beaches.
