A plume of Saharan dust arrived in South Florida on Wednesday, July 8, and was forecast to lower air quality and visibility across the Gulf Coast.
Footage from several Department of Transportation live cameras shows hazy conditions around Miami-Dade County on Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), this phenomenon happens “multiple times every summer,” with the dust leading to “hazier skies, lower rain chances, and higher temperatures.”
