Children’s Library is now The Children’s Cove

The wait is over. The Children’s Cove, the newly renovated children’s area at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, is now open and welcoming families to explore its bright new spaces for reading, learning, creativity and discovery.

Formerly known as the Children’s Library, The Children’s Cove has been thoughtfully redesigned to better serve today’s children, caregivers and families. The new name reflects both the library’s coastal community and the warm, welcoming environment created for young visitors.

The renovation transforms a beloved space that has served the community for more than three decades into a modern, flexible and inspiring destination for children of all ages. Features include improved visibility and safety, flexible seating and gathering spaces, durable new furnishings and flooring, expanded shelving and interactive learning areas designed to encourage imagination and exploration.

Throughout the renovation process, library staff, Friends of the Library volunteers, designers and community supporters worked together to ensure the new space reflected the needs and wishes of local families.

“This project has truly been a community effort,” said Mary Gebhart, president of Friends of the Library Ponte Vedra Beach. “The support we received from donors, volunteers, members, Seymour’s customers and library patrons has been extraordinary. The Children’s Cove represents an investment in the future of our children and our community.”

Construction began earlier this year following extensive planning and fundraising led by Friends of the Library Ponte Vedra Beach, which committed significant funding toward the project and launched a community-wide campaign to help bring the vision to life.

To celebrate the completion of the project, the library will host The Children’s Cove Celebration from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11. Families, supporters and community members are invited to stop by and enjoy special craft activities hosted by library staff while exploring the newly transformed space and celebrating the beginning of a bright new chapter for the library’s youngest visitors.

The Children’s Cove is located inside the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library at 101 Library Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach.
