JACKSONVILLE, Ore. – This weekend, the kids are the stars of the show! The 60th annual Children’s Festival is back in Jacksonville.
The Storytelling Guild is putting it on at the Britt Gardens and Pavilion, Saturday and Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. And the fun continues on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
It’s all about sparking creativity and hands on learning. Children and parents can enjoy over 30 hands-on arts, crafts, and science projects. This includes playing with clay, face painting, gold panning, carpentry, children focused stage performances and much more. The event’s co-director, Hollie Arnold said,
“Our main theme is ‘it’s for the kids.’ What is going to make it fun for the kids? How can kids come and experience new things, create new things? I think what’s really nice is when parents bring their kids the kids lead the way, and they decide which events and which activities to participate in.”
Admission to the Children’s Festival is only $4 per person. Families are welcomed to bring a picnic from home. More information can be found online.
