St. Pete Beach library sets calendar

ST. PETE BEACH — St. Pete Beach Public Library has set its latest events calendar.

Upcoming activities include:

• Tuesday, Nov. 11 — The library will be closed in observation of Veterans Day.

• Wednesday, Nov. 12, 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. — SHINE: One-on-one Medicare counseling (by appointment only). Specially trained volunteers can assist by providing free one-on-one counseling and information. SHINE is a free program offered by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco & Pinellas. Call 727-363-9238 or register at the Circulation Desk for a Medicare counseling session for help during the open enrollment process. By appointment only.

• Wednesday, Nov. 12, 6 p.m. — Dave Deluca presents We Gotta Get Outta This Place: The Soundtrack of the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War defined America in the second half of the 20th century. “We Gotta Get Out of This Place: The Soundtrack of the Vietnam War” is a tribute to the music that helped soldiers and veterans connect to each other and to life back home, and to cope with the complexities of the war they had been sent to fight.

• Thursday, Nov. 13, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. — AARP Smart Driver Course. Visit https://tinyurl.com/y4czxwc6 to create an account to register for the course. AARP members $20 and non-AARP members $25. Must be registered in advance to take this 6-hour course.

• Friday, Nov. 14, 1-4 p.m. — Mahjong. Bring some friends and try the new Mahjong sets; both the American and Chinese versions of the game will be available. This is not an instructional or guided gaming program. Seating is limited.

• Saturday, Nov. 15, 11 a.m. — Game On: Come try out the library’s all-ages interactive projector game system, its interactive lightboard, and the interactive game table!

• Saturdays, 2-4 p.m. — Tech Help Saturdays. Get help with technology basics for phones, computers, and library-related applications. (no repairs). • Library App Help: Wednesdays, 2-3 p.m. For help with Libby, Kanopy, and Hoopla.

Belleair Beach to host Community Yard Sale

BELLEAIR BEACH — The City of Belleair Beach will host a Citywide Community Yard Sale on Saturday,

Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The sale offers an opportunity to find bargains and enjoy a fun day exploring the community.

Meeting to talk on walkway, new property

MADEIRA BEACH — City officials here will hold two Town Hall meetings to discuss the John’s Pass jetty walkway and the potential uses of property recently acquired by the town.

The property is located at the entrance of the city at 555 150th Ave.

Public comments are sought at the meetings, which will provide an opportunity for community members to share input, ask questions, and learn more about the city’s vision for these public spaces.

The meetings are scheduled for:

• Saturday, Nov. 15, 10 a.m.

• Wednesday, Nov. 19, 6 p.m.

Both town halls will be in the commission chambers, 300 Municipal Drive.

Indian Shores updates bulk shredding event

The time for a bulk shredding event sponsored by the Indian Shores Property Owners Association has changed.

The event will now be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 8, in the parking lot of Town Hall, 19305 Gulf Blvd.

Paper only. No need to remove clips, staples, or rubber bands. Cost is $10 a file box.

The event is open to all.

Free parking will be allowed for event participants at the south end of the parking lot.
