Jacksonville Jubilee Celebration set for Saturday

The Jacksonville Jubilee Celebration is set for Saturday, June 11, in preparation for the 60th anniversary of Jacksonville’s National Historic Landmark District designation planned for Oct. 10.
The jubilee runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. downtown, and coincides with the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce’s Second Saturday citywide block party and will transform downtown into a festive, family-friendly celebration of history, culture, music and community.
Highlights include:
Christmas in July with Father Christmas arriving by Magical Trolley
Pancake Breakfast at the Odd Fellows from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Live music and performances including the Fret Drifters
History booths and local tour activities
Old time photo experiences
Kids’ games, food vendors and trolley rides
Early sales of Holiday Trolley Light Tour tickets
The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce has requested the temporary closure of the Festival Zone at 3rd and California Streets to create a safe pedestrian festival zone.
The Jubilee complements Historic Jacksonville, Inc.’s Walk Through History tours and the upcoming opening of the new History Center in the 1881 Old City Hall.
