SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Selby Library celebrated the nation’s 250th anniversary Saturday with live music, family-friendly activities and a pictorial journey through historic old Florida.
Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources hosted the free event Saturday to celebrate America turning 250, as part of an initiative to share arts, history and other cultural programs with the community.
Florida author Doug Alderson presented “Iconic Images of Florida,” a pictorial journey through Old Florida, along with “Florida Dance,” a collection of Florida stories spanning 1968 to 2024.
