1. Trump administration says SNAP will be partially funded after judges’ rulings
President Donald Trump’s administration said today that it will partially fund SNAP after a pair of judges’ rulings required it to keep the food aid program running.

2. Friends in the Park coalition in Plant City finds new space to continue feeding outreach
A Plant City feeding initiative has found a new home. The Friends in the Park coalition recently learned that the space they had been using for outreach would be demolished.

3. Florida bill would require public school students to be ‘proficient’ in cursive writing by the end of 5th grade
If a bill submitted to the Florida House passes, public elementary school students would be required to learn cursive writing in grades two through five.

4. Election Day Tuesday: Races in Polk, Manatee and Pinellas counties
Parts of the Bay area will have Election Day races tomorrow, most notably the city of Lakeland.

5. No boarding pass? You can now visit the airside terminals at Tampa International Airport
Starting today, Tampa International Airport is relaunching their TPA All Access program. The program first launched in 2019 and was discontinued during the pandemic.

GAS PRICES | Florida gas prices rose 11 cents last week, yet the state average remains less than $3 a gallon. Sunday’s state average of $2.97 per gallon was 5 cents more than a week ago, 14 cents less than last month and 7 cents less than a year ago. OFF NIGHT FOR RED-HOT BOLTS | The Tampa Bay Lightning continue a road trip tomorrow night with a 9:30 p.m. matchup at the Colorado Avalanche. The Bolts have won five straight games, improving their record to 6-4-2. After a Thursday game in Las Vegas against the Golden Knights, Tampa Bay is back home Saturday.

TRAFFIC NOTES | The eastbound Gandy Boulevard Ramp to I-275 will close at night again this week week. It starts nightly at 11 p.m. and goes until 5 a.m. It’s for construction for the new I-275 widening project in Pinellas County. Meanwhile, in Lakeland, construction crews are installing sound wall posts along northbound State Road 33 as part of ongoing roadway improvements. Work will occur daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. During this time, residents and motorists may experience increased noise levels due to construction activities. Drivers should use caution in the area.
