CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — Cape Coral police maintained a large presence at a home for hours Saturday evening.
Multiple police cars were spotted outside the home near Northwest 23rd Terrace and Chiquita Boulevard in northwest Cape Coral. When WINK News arrived around 8 p.m., neighbors said police had already been there for nearly seven hours.
Detectives and forensic investigators were seen going in and out of the house wearing gloves. Officials brought a stretcher into the home, but no one was seen being brought back out.
Lee County Domestic Animal Services was also at the scene for some time. Neighbors said a man, a woman and a dog normally live at the home.
Most neighbors said they first noticed the large police presence around 1 p.m.
“When I came in at one and I pulled up into my driveway that’s when I noticed all the cars here now surprised cause you don’t normally see that on the street but then I came out about four 5 o’clock and there were more police cars there and then it’s a lot busier and I said somethings going on I mean for them being here since 1 o’clock and they’re still here,” said Miguel Burgos, a neighbor.
Cape Coral police have not yet said what happened because detectives are actively investigating.
