A man charged with murder in a double stabbing at a Lauderhill apartment complex that left two other men dead is facing a new murder charge in a separate case, police said.

A grand jury on Wednesday indicted 26-year-old Gregory DaSilva on three counts of first-degree  premeditated murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.

The latest charge against DaSilva stems from an incident that happened on July 5.

According to Lauderhill Police, officers arrived at a nearby residence regarding the death of a 51-year-old man.

Police said that during their investigation, the circumstances surrounding the death were suspicious, and detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division were called in.

The investigation revealed that the man was seen alive earlier in the day and was found dead at the home by a family member.

The deceased was identified as Jeffrey Standifer.

Police said they continued to investigate the case, along with the previous double murder that happened on June 30.

In the first case, officers arrived Riviera Hills apartment complex on Northwest 19th Street after a man flagged down an officer patrolling the area, who said someone tried to stab him, and an officer spotted the suspect, who then ran off.

The victim said the suspect approached and asked him to call an ambulance, adding that the suspect’s shirt was soaked in what appeared to be blood, an arrest report said.

He said the suspect told him he’d been stabbed and started coming toward the victim, who told him to step back, before the suspect removed a knife from his pocket and advanced toward the victim, who ran away, the report said.

While searching the area, officers found a second male suffering from apparent stab wounds.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to a local hospital and later pronounced dead, police said.

With the help of the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Sunrise Police, officers found DaSilva and took him into custody, officials said.

An arrest report said DaSilva told a doctor he’d heard “evil voices” that told him to murder someone, a new arrest report said.

The two killed in the double stabbing were identified as Mesilien Pierre, 36, and Wilford White, 68, 

The identity of a third man who was stabbed and survived has not been released.

Police said an investigation into both cases remains active.
