TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A drier day, thanks to northwest winds, has led to warmer temperatures across the region, with afternoon highs reaching the low and mid-90s. This evening will remain dry under mostly clear skies.
Rain chances will increase slightly on Thursday, with around 40% coverage.
Our better opportunity for widespread rain arrives Friday and continues through the weekend as an area of low pressure is expected to develop over the northeastern Gulf.
There is a low chance for tropical development over the next seven days. Regardless of whether development occurs, increasing moisture will boost rain chances and help bring temperatures down a few degrees this weekend and into early next week.
