TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Between calls Wednesday, Tallahassee Fire crews at Station 16 trained on setting up a high line, a key Urban Search and Rescue technique used to move rescuers across large gaps.
The skill can be used in situations such as crossing a small ravine or a body of water, allowing rescuers to be lowered directly to a patient or a target area. While it is not an everyday scenario, the training helps ensure crews are prepared to use the technique when needed.
