RUSKIN, Fla. (WWSB) – Two Hillsborough County deputies were shot and medevaced to Tampa General Hospital following a deputy-involved shooting on West Shell Point Road in Ruskin, Sheriff Chad Chronister said.
“Two of our deputies shot, please pray for them!” Chronister wrote in a social media post.
The suspect was also shot and is being transported to a hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said it is on the scene of the shooting on West Shell Point Road. Chronister said in a follow-up post there is no threat to public safety and that updates will be provided as they become available.

Videos and images shared from the scene show Hillsborough County Fire Rescue personnel, an ambulance and emergency responders moving a person on a stretcher, with a medical helicopter nearby.
The deputies’ conditions, the circumstances leading up to the shooting and information about additional injuries or arrests were not immediately available.
