The Florida Panthers announced Friday that head equipment manager Teddy Richards has been suspended after his arrest earlier that day at his suburban Broward County home.
Richards, 43, is being held at the main Broward County jail after being arrested Friday by the Coral Springs Police Department.
As of Friday evening, bond has not been set as he awaits a hearing.
Richards has been charged with one count of domestic violence and a count of unauthorized use of 911 services.
The Panthers’ equipment manager since 2016, Richards is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with Florida as well as a Cup champion with the 2016 Pittsburgh Penguins.
He has also worked extensively with Team USA, serving as equipment manager in 2025 at the NHL 4 Nations Face-Off as well as with the gold-winning Olympic team in 2026.
Richards also served as the equipment manager for Team USA at the IIHF World Championship which was held earlier this summer.
Prior to coming to the Panthers, Richards was assistant equipment manager for the Penguins from 2013-16 and also served on the equipment staff for Pittsburgh’s AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins from 2002-13.
Per the Panthers, Richards is suspended from “all team activities and facilities pending investigation.’’
