TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBS12) — A Tallahassee postal worker was arrested after investigators said she stole cash and gift cards from items sent through the U.S. mail, including $1,000 that was part of an undercover operation.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced on July 16 the arrest of Napeaches Blair, 43, of Tallahassee, on charges of grand theft and mail theft. Blair is employed as a United States Postal Service sales and service clerk in Tallahassee.
According to FDLE, the investigation began in April 2026 after the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General provided information about a suspected mail theft case to the agency’s Tallahassee Economic Crime Squad.
Investigators alleged Blair stole cash and gift cards from mail while working at the counter of a Tallahassee post office.

“Whether it is connecting with loved ones who are far away or ensuring important and sensitive information is transported safely, the postal system is a crucial component of our lives,” FDLE Tallahassee Special Agent in Charge Keith Wilmer said.
Manipulating the U.S. Mailing System will never be tolerated in Florida and FDLE will investigate any crimes that affect that system.”
Authorities said an FDLE special agent working undercover mailed a card containing $1,000 in cash as part of the investigation. The agency said the operation confirmed Blair removed the money from the card.

Blair was arrested July 13 and transported to the Leon County Jail, according to FDLE.
