U.S. Marshals arrested internet personalities and businessmen Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami on July 18 at the request of the United Kingdom, where they face charges including rape and human trafficking.

The Guardian reported the news, according to Ukrinform.

“The social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested in Miami on UK charges by federal authorities,” the U.S. Marshals Service said.

The Tate brothers are now awaiting extradition proceedings in the United States. A day earlier, British prosecutors announced 38 additional charges in the case, relating to four more alleged victims.

The UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) charged 39-year-old Andrew Tate with seven counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, three counts of causing bodily harm, and 19 additional offenses related to pornography.

His 38-year-old brother, Tristan Tate, has been charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

The charges relate to alleged offenses committed between July 2010 and August 2017.

According to Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Crown Prosecution Service’s Special Crime Division, the total number of alleged victims in the case has risen to seven.

Bedfordshire Police said the brothers now face a total of 59 criminal charges: 42 against Andrew Tate and 17 against Tristan Tate.

Previously, the Crown Prosecution Service had brought 21 criminal charges against the Tate brothers in a separate case, including rape, causing bodily harm, and human trafficking.

The Tate brothers, who promote hypermasculinity and have millions of followers on social media, deny all the allegations.

Both men also face charges in Romania, including human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized criminal group.

As Ukrinform previously reported, in June Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, was convicted on two counts of rape, as well as domestic violence and other offenses, and sentenced to four years in prison.
