Gov. Ron DeSantis has appointed Judge Thomas Rebull to the Third District Court of Appeal, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Kevin Emas.
Rebull, of Miami, has served on the 11th Judicial Circuit Court since 2011. During his tenure, he has handled cases in the complex business litigation, civil, criminal and appellate divisions, according to the appeals court.
The Third District Court of Appeal hears cases from Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
Before joining the bench, Rebull was a partner at Nelson Mullins. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston University and his law degree from American University’s Washington College of Law.
Rebull becomes the 45th judge to serve on the Third District Court of Appeal. His appointment was announced by the governor’s office.
