The sheriff’s office said officers responded to the scene at West 35th Street, off of Moncrief Road, Sunday evening.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating in Moncrief after a 12-year-old boy was shot following an argument.

JSO investigators said the boy was shot around 9 p.m. Sunday near Clanzel Brown Park in Moncrief.

Investigators said a group of juveniles gathered at the park, and during the gathering, an argument broke out. Some of the juveniles left but later returned to confront the other group, resulting in a gun going off, hitting the 12-year-old. 

The boy was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Police are looking for a young Black male in all dark clothing. He was last seen running north on Moncrief Road after the shooting.
