BOSTON (KLTV) — Hallsville’s Justin Slaten enjoyed a quick inning in Boston’s win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
In the second game of a doubleheader against the Rays on Friday, Slaten took the mound in the eighth inning and recorded three outs against three batters in Boston’s 5-3 win. This was Boston’s 11th straight win.
Slaten’s first hitter, Junior Caminero, grounded out to second base. The second, Ryan Vilade, also grounded out to second base. Finally, Cedric Mullins struck out swinging to record the final out of the eighth inning. Slaten was pulled before the start of the ninth inning.
In the 2026 season, Justin Slaten (1-4) has 32 strikeouts in just over 23 innings pitched and an ERA of 5.40.
Boston takes its 13-game winning streak into a home series against the Orioles on Monday at 6:10 p.m.
