Florida’s month-long back-to-school sales tax holiday began this week
NFIB Florida Executive Director Bill Herrle encourages Florida shoppers to support small businesses during this year’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday:
“Florida’s small businesses always need our support, and the back-to-school sales tax holiday is a great opportunity to shop local and help strengthen Florida’s economy directly. At a time when small businesses are managing high inflationary pressures and various workforce challenges, it’s crucial that our local communities shop small and support Florida’s Main Street. We encourage anyone preparing for the upcoming school year to seek out a small business for their school supplies.”
Florida’s month-long Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday began this week and extends through Aug. 20, 2026. Shoppers can purchase qualifying back-to-school supplies exempt from tax during the holiday. The tax holiday was passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Gov. DeSantis. Learn more here.
