JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The St. Johns Marina boat ramp in downtown Jacksonville will close Aug. 1 for construction related to the adjacent South Bank Residences project, the City of Jacksonville said Tuesday.
The city said the closure will allow crews to reroute vehicular access, add boat-trailer parking under the Acosta Bridge, dredge the approach to the ramp and replace the existing ramp with a longer ramp to accommodate larger vessels.
The improved facility is expected to reopen in summer 2028. The city said updates to the timeline will be posted at JaxParks.com.
Boaters can use nearby ramps during the closure, including the Arlington Road boat ramp at 5103 Arlington Road and the Arlington Lions Club boat ramp at 4322 Richard D. Gatlin Road. For more information, call 630-CITY.
