A Jacksonville man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he led law enforcement on a pursuit lasting more than 50 minutes through Onslow, Jones and Craven counties on July 17.
According to arrest warrants, 40-year-old Dasean Moore fled from deputies with the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office after they attempted to stop him for a traffic violation on New Bern Highway.
Court documents allege Moore refused to stop, drove on the wrong side of the road, exceeded the speed limit by more than 15 mph, and drove recklessly while trying to evade deputies. Investigators said he reached speeds of 120 mph in a 60 mph zone during the pursuit. He is also charged with driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Deputies said the pursuit ended in Craven County, where Moore allegedly jumped from the vehicle while it was still moving and fled on foot. Authorities said he resisted arrest before deputies took him into custody.
According to the warrants, Moore was also driving without a valid North Carolina driver’s license, failed to stop for emergency lights and sirens, impeded traffic by driving too slowly, and failed to maintain lane control.

Moore has since bonded out of jail.
