GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — A gun rights group is demanding Alachua County change ordinances it says limit Second Amendment rights.
Florida Carry sent a notice to county commissioners Sunday claiming that four county ordinances are contrary to state law. Those ordinances include provisions that limit the sale or transportation of firearms and the carrying of guns on boats or into the county courthouse.
The Alachua County attorney responded to the letter, saying county commissioners will take up the question on Aug. 11.
