Bicyclist killed in crash on Colonial Drive in Orange County, FHP says

Eastbound lanes shut down at Woodbury Road

A bicyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon on E. Colonial Drive in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 1:21 p.m. near Woodbury Road, troopers said.

According to a preliminary FHP report, the crash involved the bicyclist and a 2022 Tesla Model 3.

The bicyclist — a man, pending further identification — was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The Tesla’s driver, a woman, was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the report states.

A roadblock was in place for the eastbound lanes of E. Colonial Drive at the scene of the crash at the time of this writing, according to FHP.

FHP is still investigating.
