An ‘Evil Dead’ symphony concert and screening comes to downtown Clearwater next week

While we love an orchestra playing shows devoted to film scores, there’s really nothing like watching the movie with a live symphony performing its score in sync. And Sam Raimi’s “The Evil Dead” is the latest film to be given the “in concert” treatment.

The 1981 cult classic—which Alice Cooper once told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay had an amount of blood that made him laugh his ass off—celebrates its 45th anniversary next year, and has been taken across the U.S. in a “newly restored format.” Original composer Joe LoDuca (“Xena: Warrior Princess,” “Curse of Chucky”) won’t be onstage, but you can’t say that hearing an orchestra perform while watching Deadites get slaughtered by Bruce Campbell isn’t the coolest post-Halloween treat ever.

Tickets to see Evil Dead In Concert at downtown Clearwater’s Bilheimer Capitol Theatre on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025 are still available and start at $44.50.
