Another hot day ahead with a few pop up showers and storms

Jacksonville is starting Thursday morning with partly cloudy skies and warm, humid conditions.

Temperatures will quickly climb through the morning, reaching the mid-90s by the afternoon.

While much of the day will feature a mix of sunshine and clouds, there is a slight chance of an isolated afternoon thunderstorm developing.

Heat index values are expected to exceed 100°F during the hottest part of the day, so anyone spending time outdoors should stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.

Winds will be light, and any thunderstorms that develop could produce brief heavy rain, gusty winds, and frequent lightning before diminishing later this evening.

Overnight, skies will remain partly cloudy with warm temperatures settling into the upper 70s.
