Fat Tuesday setting up shop in Jacksonville’s Five Points neighborhood

The chain is bringing its specialty drinks, bites and souvenir cups back to Northeast Florida, this time on Park Street.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Fat Tuesday is bringing the party to Park Street, with a new location planned in Jacksonville’s Five Points neighborhood.

The national chain of bars, originating from New Orleans, specializes in frozen cocktails jazzed up in extravagant souvenir cups.

Fat Tuesday made an announcement on social media Thursday that its newest location will be in the River City. According to its website, the shop is “coming soon” to 1045 Park Street.

The vacant spot once housed Rain Dogs., a local bar and music venue that closed up shop on New Year’s Eve more than a year ago.

This won’t be Fat Tuesday’s first time in Jacksonville, however; it once operated at the now-demolished Jacksonville Landing in the early 2000s.

The closest locations are currently in Gainesville, Orlando, and Savannah.
