NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida man was arrested after investigators said he tried to break into a home and threatened to kill the family living there.
The New Smyrna Beach Police Department said it was called to a home around 11:45 p.m. Monday after the homeowner reported that she heard someone outside her home trying to open the front door.
According to an arrest affidavit, the woman said her son looked out the window to find Kevin Moss trying to open the front door and threatening to kill him.

The police department said Moss made a “finger gun” gesture and said “boom, boom, boom.”
Ring camera video captured the incident, where police said Moss was heard saying, “I’m going to shoot your (expletive) up.”
Body camera video showed officers asking Moss if he had any tattoos. Investigators linked him to the scene after Moss showed them a palm tree tattoo on his chest, which matched the man seen on the Ring camera video.

“Don’t do this,” Moss told officers while they placed him under arrest. “You guys are gonna get in the wrong situation.”
Moss was charged with attempted burglary of an occupied dwelling. He was taken to the Volusia County Jail.
