The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium will present Shells, Science, and Community Day on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
Explore new exhibits of the Great Hall of Shells as well as community partner tables from the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, Sanibel Historical Museum and Village, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and Naples Zoo.
There will also be gallery talks by Science Director and Curator Dr. José H. Leal, guided tours of the museum’s vast collection of shells rarely seen by the public (registration on-site at the event required), Keeper Chats by museum aquarists, Snail Search and Biodiversity Walks around the museum grounds (registration on-site at the event required), story-time readings for children, craft activities, a scavenger hunt, and more.
Food trucks will be on-site.
And don’t forget to get a slice of museum birthday cake to celebrate the museum’s 30th anniversary.
